Discreet Shipping in Canada: Order Intimate Gifts Without Surprises

Two worries stop many Canadians from ordering intimate products online: who will see the package? and will I pay extra at the door? Here’s what to know so neither happens.

What "discreet" really means

When a store promises discreet shipping, check three things on its shipping page:

  • Plain packaging: a plain brown or white box with no logo or product name.
  • A neutral sender name on the label.
  • A neutral name on your card statement, not the full store name.

Every store we link to ships in plain packaging. If the sender name or the statement matters to you, check the store’s FAQ before you order.

Overview based on manufacturer info, not a hands-on test · partner links

Lovense, for example, says in its shipping FAQ that orders go out in a standard brown box with no markings referring to the company, with a second discreet box inside that holds the product. Shipping methods and delivery times depend on your region; you see them, and the list of countries Lovense ships to, at checkout. Visit the Lovense store

Customs fees: why orders from the US can cost more

When a parcel crosses the border, Canada may charge tax (GST/HST) and duty. For courier parcels from the US or Mexico, under the CUSMA trade agreement:

  • Up to C$40: no tax and no duty.
  • C$40 to C$150: no duty, but tax applies.
  • Over C$150: tax and duty may apply.

Parcels sent by regular mail have a much lower threshold. And couriers often add their own brokerage fee, charged to you at delivery. That’s the surprise most people complain about.

The simple fix: order from a store that ships from Canada

A store that ships from inside Canada means no customs, no brokerage fee and usually faster delivery. That’s why, when you visit from Canada, our links send you to stores that ship from inside the country whenever possible.

PinkCherry, for example, is a Canadian company that ships Canadian orders from Canada and US orders from the US.

Intimatify (LELO, Womanizer, We-Vibe, Arcwave) ships to Canada, including Quebec and Ontario. Orders ship from the US, so duties and taxes may apply at delivery, under Canadian rules.

More tips

  • Have it delivered where it suits you: a pickup point, a parcel locker or your workplace mailroom, if you’d rather not receive it at home.
  • Gift for someone else? Ship it to yourself first, then wrap it.
  • Check returns before you buy. Intimate products often can’t be returned once opened.
  • Order early before holidays. Shipping slows down fast around Black Friday and Christmas. Our Black Friday guide
