Privacy policy

sharegf.com is operated by the ShareGF team. We respect your privacy and collect as little information as possible. This policy explains, in plain terms, what we collect, why, how long we keep it and how to exercise your rights.

What we collect and why

  • Your browsing, only if you agree. Pages viewed, visit length, approximate country, device type. We use this to understand what our readers care about. These tools stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner.
  • Your country, for partner links. Your IP address is used to guess your country so we can send you to a store that ships to you. We don’t keep your IP address for this purpose.
  • Your email, if you subscribe to the newsletter. Only with the box you tick yourself. It’s used only to send you the newsletter (see “Newsletter” below).
  • Your story, if you send one. Pen name, text, language, and email if you provide it. This information may relate to your intimate life: we handle it with the greatest care, only with your explicit consent.
  • Your game and quiz answers are not sent to us. They stay in your browser.
  • Your age is not recorded. The "18 or older" confirmation only unlocks the site.

Who we share with

We never sell your information. We use service providers to run the site:

  • Hostinger (hosting)
  • Cloudflare (security, speed, country detection)
  • Brevo (newsletter)
  • Google Search Console and an analytics tool, only after you agree
  • Our affiliate networks (Awin, Impact and others): when you click a partner link, the store and the network know you came from our site

Some of these providers are located outside Quebec, including in the United States and Europe, so your information may be processed there under their own safeguards.

How long we keep your information

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
  • Original text of your story: 30 days after our decision. Only the published, anonymized version is kept.
  • Statistics: in aggregate form, according to the tool’s settings.

Newsletter

If you subscribe, you receive one email a week with new gift guides, date ideas and partner deals; some of its links are affiliate links.

  • Double confirmation. After the form, we send you a confirmation email. You’re only subscribed once you click the link inside; without that click, your address is not added to the list.
  • What we keep. Your email address, the newsletter language and proof of your consent (date, time and IP address of the sign-up and of the confirmation), as required by Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation. Brevo also records sending statistics: delivery, opens, clicks, unsubscribes. Our site itself doesn’t keep your address: the form sends it straight to Brevo.
  • Brevo, our email provider. Brevo (France) stores this information and sends the emails on our behalf, as a processor: it doesn’t use it for its own purposes and doesn’t sell it. According to Brevo, the data is hosted in the European Union.
  • One-click unsubscribe. Every email has an unsubscribe link that takes effect immediately. You can also write to us at contact@sharegf.com.
  • How long we keep it. Until you unsubscribe. After that, Brevo keeps only your address on a suppression list, so you never hear from us again. On request, we delete it entirely.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, stop distributing it, receive it in a common format, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to contact@sharegf.com; we reply within 30 days. You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.

Cookies

Essential cookies make the site work (language, 18+ confirmation, your cookie choices). Others, such as analytics, are turned on only with your consent. You can change your mind at any time with the "Manage cookies" link at the bottom of every page.

Games for couples

A game in progress (first names, level, cards already played) stays on your phone for 12 hours so you can pick it up again; The Envelope stays there for 30 days. None of it is sent to us. The heart “I liked this card” sends only the card’s number, with no text and nothing about you, so we know which cards people like most.

Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version.
